Dear Mr. Smith,

Thank you for the opportunity to submit a proposal for the Green Acres Project. I have included documentation relative to my experience and skills, and a project implementation plan including time and cost estimates.

Upon reviewing the description of your project I was excited to find that you are seeking someone to assist you with the writing and editing of a book about plant biology. I am pleased to inform you that in addition to my ten years experience in writing and editing I have a Bachelors Degree in Botany.

My most recent relative work would be my 2,000 word feature article on the interaction of plants and microbes, published in the Journal of American Plant Physiology in their November issue of 2004. I also have several more articles on the subject cued fro publication in the coming months. I have attached a copy of the aforementioned article for your perusal.

If chosen for the Green Acres Project, I would first like to meet to discuss what you have done so far, and then strategize a plan top accommodate our writing and work styles. From there we can map out each phase of the project until its completion.

As you would like to create a publishable 305 page book, my cost is estimated at $0.05 per word based on 700 words per page, making the total cost of $10,675, the project to be completed within 40 – 45 weeks.

Payment will be made in three increments – 33% up front, 33% after 150 pages, and the remainder on completion of the work. Payment by check or money order is preferred.

Included in the cost will be three revisions with a turnaround tome of 72 hours.

If you have any further questions you may contact me at anytime on (212) 555 – 0763 or by email at wilywriter@email.com. I look forward to speaking with you more about your exciting work.

Sincerely,

John Simons
