Application Letter Examples – Variety of Business Application Letter Examples

| May 8, 2012 | 0 Comments

These application letter examples can be used for a wide range of business needs. There are many business related situations where a well written application letter can make the difference between the success and failure of your application. Some examples of application letters businesses may need are:

  • Visa application for temporary placement of employee overseas
  • Credit Extension
  • Bank Loan
  • Work permit application for foreign worker
  • Building permit application
  • Product License Application
  • Event permit for promotions

No matter what the purpose, all business application letters should be printed on official company stationery and written in a professional manner. Sending in an application with illegible handwriting written on an untidy piece of paper will surely end in rejection. The traditional and standard block format is the style we use in composing our application letter examples.

Effective Application Letter Examples

To write an effective application letter, one that gets the result you want, you need to understand the importance of proper formatting and content. Certain salutations should be used, others avoided, and some things should not be said at all. Your application letter should never be pushy, nor should it lack confidence. You’ll want to impart the impression that you are deserving of your request, and responsible enough to do what is required of you should it be granted.

As mentioned the block format is used in laying out your application letter. This is a simple format – everything is aligned to the left, and content is written in “blocks.” The first block in your application letter is your own personal information – name, address and contact information. Contact information should contain at least one telephone number, a mobile number if you have one, and your email address. Positioned in the top left corner of the page it will look like this:

One space below your personal details comes the date, then another space, and the name and address of the person to whom you are addressing the letter.

Now comes the main body of the letter. As your application letter is designed to compliment your loan application, you’ll need it to include all of the relevant facts about your business, such as:

  • The type of business you plan to open
  • How many employees you might hire
  • How you are qualified to manage such a business
  • Economic factors about the industry you are entering
  • Business demographics and market
  • Why your business will be different from similar businesses already in existence
  • How the business can benefit your community
  • Any assets you or your business may have

Considering the above, the salutation, and body of your loan application letter would look something like this:

Dear Mr. Johnson,

This loan application addresses the criteria of our required business expansion and the terms of the requested loan. We would use the proceeds from this loan to expand our services through the procurement of additional equipment and machinery, adding an extension to our premises, and to hire a further four (4) employees.

The employees that we plan to hire will be full time employees from the local area who will be used to increase our output of… (service or product), and they will initially be from the low to middle-class sector.

Further more, the project we hope to implement if we receive these funds has the potential to generate substantial other business for our community, as our product is essential for other manufacturers, both nationally and internationally.

The expansion of our plant will further benefit the local community, as all contractors and sub-contractors will be hired locally. In addition to generating income for local businesses and residents, the industrial tax base will also be boosted.

We also plan to use more of our own assets than what we are borrowing. The $20,000 we are borrowing is only one third of the total expense of our expansion. Furthermore, the land we need to purchase for the expansion of our plant is owned by the city, so even more monies will end up in the local economy.

The risk of loaning to our company is low as we are a well established firm with a fine history and reputation in… (name of community). We would appreciate approval of the amount requested so that we can continue to develop and increase the quality of life in our beloved community.

Sincerely,

John Thompson
