Dear Mr. Black,

It seems there might be some misunderstanding with some employees regarding Medion’s sick leave policy.

To clarify the matter:

Every employee is allotted 5 sick days per annum during their first 3 years of employment. Employees who have been employed at Medion for between 5 and 10 years receive 7 sick days per year, employees with 10 – 20 years service are granted 10 sick days per annum, and any employee worth more than 20 years service receives 14 days of sick leave per annum.

Any employee absent for more than 2 consecutive sick days must produce a medical certificate upon their return to work. Failure to produce a medical certificate (doctor’s note) will result in loss of pay for the days missed, and possible disciplinary action.

You may refer to your Employees’ Handbook for further information. Should you have any questions or issues, please contact our Benefits Officer, Sandra Sensitive.

Sincerely,

Mr. Sam Watkins
